Schuylkill businesses cited
Several Schuylkill County businesses have been cited by the state police liquor enforcement unit of Allentown for violating state liquor control board rules.
• Martina Castle LLC, trading as Martina Castle, Sandcastle Bar, 200 S. Second St., Saint Clair, was cited on March 3 for failure to display on the licensed premises documentary evidence that the premises meets all sanitary requirements for a public eating place. The business was also cited on March 3 for failure to post signs as required by the Clean Indoor Air Act.
Other citations were: Between Jan. 10 and 24, furnished alcoholic beverages between 1 and 9 a.m., Sunday, and March 8 for failure to adhere to the conditions of the agreement entered into with the board, placing additional restrictions upon the subject license.
• Michael L. Thomas, trading as Club 54, 100-102 W. Centre St., Mahanoy City, was cited on April 3 concerning the wearing of masks by employees and patrons.
• The Ashland Grille LLC, trading as The Ashland Grille, 308-310 Center St., Ashland, cited on March 14 for violating mandates concerning COVID-19 restrictions on wearing of masks and other conditions.
The business was cited April 10 for the same type of COVID-19 violations.
• C&M Entertainment LLC, trading as The Port Bar & Grill, 101 Jackson St., Port Carbon, cited on Feb. 26 for selling alcoholic beverages after the licensee health permit or license was revoked. The business was also cited on March 6 for violating the mandates concerning COVID-19 restrictions on wearing masks and other conditions, and again on March 18 for same type of COVID-19 violations.
These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50-$1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. In addition, the judge can impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
