The Olympians break a 1-1 tie in the fifth when Dennis Luckenbill singles and John Leffler follows with a two-run homer. Consecutive singles by Pete McGuire, Dan Carrigan, Dave Thomas, Rob Sterner and Klementovic help produce the other five runs for Thopre, coached by Tony Forte. Ed Klementovic tosses five innings and strikes out five to gain the win. Leffler pitches two scoreless frames to complete the victory.
