In Tamaqua borough, Kathy Kunkel, Mary Linkevich and Richie Linkhorst won the nominations for the three open four-year council seats. Incumbent David Mace and Joe Salla were defeated.

In the race for one two-year seat, Jay A. Hollenbach won the republican nomination over Kunkel. No democrats were on the ballot for either position.

County Common Pleas Court Judge Christina Hale won both the Democratic and Republican nominations to retain her seat. Hale was appointed to the bench last year following the retirement of Judge John Domalakes, but had to run to remain in office.

Republican Chris Hobbs and Democrat James Conville will round out the ballot this fall.
