The Rev. W.S. Eisenhower has been appointed pastor of St. Peter’s Evangelical Congregational Church, East Weissport.

The newly appointed pastor, who was approved on Sunday during the conference sessions of the Evangelical Congregational Churches held in York, will preach his first sermon at the 10:35 a.m. worship service on Sunday, using the theme “The Ideal Church.”

Eisenhower has served as pastor of the E.C. Church in Hamburg. He succeeds the Rev. Henry E. Samuels, who retired during the conference session after having served as a pastor for 44 years, 33 of which were spent in Weissport.

Eisenhower and his wife are the parents of five children.
