Lehighton man accused of sexual assault

A Lehighton man admitted that he "probably" sexually assaulted a 15-year-old boy after giving whiskey and beer.

Summit Hill police charged Jay A. Nenscel, 48, with a felony charge of corruption of minors, and misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors, indecent assault on an unconscious person, indecent assault without the consent of the other, indecent assault of a person younger than 16, and selling or furnishing liquor to a minor. He remains free on $100,000 unsecured bail.The charges stem from incidents on March 3 and March 21, according to court documents. Police charged Nenscel on Sept. 22 after investigating the matter.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed with District Judge Casimir Kosciolek of Lansford by officer Todd Woodward, here's what happened:On April 9, police received information that the boy had been victimized by Nenscel. The boy was interviewed at the Children's Advocacy Center, Scranton, with police and someone from the Carbon County Children and Youth Services agency present.The boy said that on March 3, Nenscel gave him beer and showed him pornography.On March 21, Nenscel gave the boy whiskey and beer. While the boy passed out from the alcohol, Nenscel performed a sexual act with him.Police gave Nenscel his Miranda rights, and he gave them a written statement in which he wrote that the "events probably happened."
