Two softball teams met Sunday afternoon at Franklin Township's Christman Field and unlike many athletic events, the final score didn't matter.
All of the focus was on the memory of Warner B. “Butch” Rodgers, a beloved coach in in the Franklin Township Girls' Softball League who passed away suddenly July 31 at 46 years old.“Many of us are here for various reasons, but ultimately it is because Butch has had a positive impact in each of our lives in some way, shape or form,” said Jim Albert, Rodgers' nephew. “I can't think of a better way to honor his memory than supporting his wife and daughters here today.”For more on the event, read Monday's Times News.
