In other business, Lansford council:

• Agreed to reopen the borough office, effective immediately, but require visitors to wear masks.

• Approved event permits for a May 2 (11 a.m.-1 p.m.) drive-thru chicken dinner fundraiser for the Friends of the Lansford Pool; a May 15 bike night concert at the Halftime Bar & Grill; and Music in the Park at Kennedy Park.

• To direct Mayor Michele Bartek to remove discipline letters from two officers’ personnel files.

• Approved the designation of two parking spots on Ridge Street for use by the American Legion.

• Agreed to contact Panther Valley School District informing them of plans to remove unsafe steps near a bus stop in the Andrewsville section of the borough.
