Pocono man jailed after cutting woman with knife

A man is in jail after police said he cut a woman’s neck following a domestic dispute.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident occurred at 7:55 p.m. Aug. 1. Police were dispatched to a residence along Cottontail Lane, in Gouldsboro for a report of a domestic assault with a knife. The woman said she got into an argument with her boyfriend, who she identified as Jason Bokow, 33, of Cottontail Lane, and he assaulted her with a knife, cutting her throat. She said she ran to a neighbor’s home for help.

On scene officers spoke with the woman, who had a large cut on the left side of her throat. She said Bokow grabbed a knife from the kitchen and pushed her to the ground and held the knife to her throat and pressed it against her skin.

Police set up a perimeter around the home where Bokow resided. Police said they then heard screaming from the home and found Bokow on his porch refusing verbal commands to step away from the house. Police used a stun gun and was taken into custody.

He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, and one count of strangulation, all felonies; and misdemeanor counts of possession of instruments of crime, simple assault (two counts) and reckless endangerment.

He was arraigned before a district judge. Records show he is currently an inmate in the county prison in Snydersville. Bail was set at $50,000.
