A Brodheadsville woman has been charged for threatening to kill her neighbor.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Trooper Leo Nita of the Pennsylvania State Police, Troop N, Fern Ridge barracks:

DesJuana Washington, 42, faces charges of retaliation against a witness, victim or party; intimidation of witness or victims; terroristic threats; simple assault; and harassment.

At 9:05 a.m. Oct. 10, Nita was dispatched to a house in the 1300 block of Pennell Road, Chestnuthill Township, for the report of a neighbor harassing the victim while he was walking his dog.

The victim told police he was walking his dog at around 8:30 a.m. when his neighbor, DesJuana Washington, 42, came onto his property with two of her dogs.

Washington stood on top of the victim’s septic mound about 25 feet away from him. As her two leashed dogs were barking, she said, “I’m gonna kill you,” “I don’t know why you’re doing this,” “Don’t come on my property,” “I’m gonna get even with all of you,” and “I’m not going to jail.”

The victim retreated into his residence and called 911.

Washington told police she was walking two of her dogs in the front of her house around 8:30 a.m. and was on her second lap when the victim was standing on her property next to the tree.

The victim said he allowed his dog leash to extend, and the dog came onto Washington’s property. He said to her, “I’m gonna send your dogs to the pound,” and Washington responded, “I’m gonna send your (expletive) to jail.”

Washington said she didn’t threaten the victim or go onto his property.

She is currently free in lieu of $10,000 unsecured bail, and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Nov. 15 before District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.
