March 23, 1987 - Northern Lehigh opens its baseball season by posting a 9-2 victory over Catasauqua. The Bulldogs, coached by Frank Carazo, use a pair of four-run innings to gain the win. A double steal by Mark Hoffman and Dale Boyer in the fourth frame ties the game, and Mike Miller delivers a two-run single to give Nolehi the lead for good. Hoffman gains the pitching win in relief, while George Stasko, Mike Stasko and Adam Merkle each pitch scoreless innings to secure the victory.
