During Monday night's Penn Forest supervisors meeting, township auditor Matthew Schutter accused the township of refusing to pay him what he is owed for performing his duties as auditor.
"I know that we have discussed this before and I thought we were in agreement," said Thomas Nanovic, township solicitor. "The code sets the salary for the auditor to be paid when performing an audit. We have a CPA firm that does our audits. You just set the salary for the roadmaster and the assistant roadmaster."Schutter said he had submitted a number of bills to the township for costs associated with his performing his duties as auditor and that he was yet to be paid.Nanovic told Schutter that the supervisors, on his recommendation, had approved a payment in the amount of $30 plus mileage for Schutter a few months ago and that he should have received it by now.Schutter said he had not received the check, and that he believed he was due additional expenses and that he would take further action, in court if necessary, to collect what he believes is due to him.
