State Police at Bethlehem

State police at Bethlehem reported on the following incidents investigated by troopers:

• On March 4 troopers responded to the Citizens Fire Company, located at 3922 Main St., in Slatedale, Washington Township. On scene troopers were told by the fire chief that over the last few months hundreds of gallons of fuel oil had been missing from the 1,000 gallon tank on the property. Estimated financial loss is $825.

• Troopers said a 65-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man, both from Usina Court, Slatington, Washington Township, reported they were contacted by a supposed pastor and was asked for $400 worth of gift cards. The victims provided the cards’ information. Total loss was $100.

• On Feb. 24 at 1:58 a.m. troopers were dispatched to a residence along Cutoff Road in Washington Township, for a report of a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his left leg. On scene troopers learned the victim, a 49-year-old man, accidentally shot himself while attempting to move his firearm from his lap to a coffee table. The man was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.

• A 56-year-old man from Washington Township, reported someone used his information to file for unemployment benefits. The report was made March 1. There was no loss.

• Police cited James McGuire, 30, of Schnecksville, on a theft charge after they were called to an incident at 10:19 a.m. Feb. 16 at the Wells Fargo Bank, 4825 Route 309, North Whitehall Township.

Police said the victim was a Lehighton victim.

They said the incident involved $50 worth of cardboard boxes that were stolen.
