Palmerton Lions to meet

Palmerton Lions Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, July 15, at The Summit, second floor dining room. Members are asked to make a note of the change in time and location. Members are also asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry.The July 1 meeting is cancelled due to the July 4th holiday.Community members are reminded to donate used eyeglasses at Houser Newman Eye Associates, Walters Optometric, First Northern Bank & Trust, Citizens Bank, all located on Delaware Avenue in Palmerton and/or the Palmerton Area High School located on Fireline Road or by giving them to any Lions member.Eyeglasses are recycled for those in other countries who are unable to afford corrective lenses. In addition, anyone needing financial assistance with eyeglasses can contact committee chairperson, Jim Sheckler at (610) 826-4533.
