Neighbor dispute ends in homicide in Moore Twp.

A dispute between neighbors turned deadly Monday morning in Moore Township, Northampton County.

The Moore Township Police Department was dispatched to 1112 Moser Road, Moore Township at 10:38 a.m. Monday for the report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, the suspect, a 74-year-old man from Moore Township, Northampton County, had a gunshot wound to the head and reported he had shot both himself and the neighbor who lived across the street.

Police found the victim, 42-year-old Christopher Robbin Debellis, dead in the rear of his residence located at 1115 Moser Road, with multiple gunshot wounds. Debellis was later pronounced deceased by Northampton County Coroner Zack Lysek at 12:15 p.m. with the cause of death ruled homicide.

Debellis was shot both inside and outside his residence with both a handgun and rifle.

Initial investigation reveals both neighbors have been engaged in an ongoing neighbor dispute involving a water pipe that has led to numerous arguments and disagreements over the past several months.

The suspect was treated at the scene for his injuries and transported to St. Luke’s University Hospital - Bethlehem for his injuries.

This investigation is being conducted by the Troop M Major Case Team. Assisting agencies are: Northampton County District Attorney’s Office, Northampton County Coroner, Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Moore Township Police Department, Lehigh Township Police Department, Bushkill Township Police Department, Moore Township EMS, Nazareth EMS and East Allen Township EMS.

This investigation remains open.
