Crews are battling a stubborn apartment fire on Delaware Avenue in Palmerton that broke out early this afternoon.

The fire broke out in the apartment above law offices at 228 Delaware Avenue shortly after noon.

Firefighters from three counties were on scene of the fire was first reported at 12:30 p.m. when neighbors reported spotting smoke pouring from beneath a door. Inside the smoke alarms was sounding.

When fire fighters arrived on scene they found flames and heavy smoke pouring from the second floor of the two-story wood frame structure.
