• A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence in Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton stopped a 2002 Ford Taurus on March 8 at 3:31 a.m. along Blakeslee Boulevard Drive West, at County Line Drive, in Mahoning Township, for a vehicle code violation.

The driver, a 22-year-old man from Tamaqua, who troopers declined to identify, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Troopers said criminal charges will be filed pending toxicology test results.

• State police at Hazleton said troopers stopped a 2015 Jeep Patriot at 12:38 a.m. on March 4 along Hudsondale Street and East Main Street in Weatherly. The driver, a 63-year-old Weatherly man, who troopers declined to identify, was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. Charges will be filed.
