Man flown to LV after being injured on his property

A property owner in Rush township was flown to the hospital Thursday evening after he suffered a severe leg injury while installing security cameras on his property.The incident occurred about 5:30 p.m. about a half mile east of the entrance to Lake Hauto on the south side of Route 54.The Hometown fire Company was requested to the scene to aid in removing the victim from the remote wooded site in a Stokes basket. He was treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua Ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being flown by MedEvac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital Trauma Center in Allentown.The Hometown Fire Company set up a landing zone in the Walmart parking lot with the Hometown Fire Police maintaining traffic control at the scene. Rush township police are investigating the incident.
