Despite a stiff challenge, state Rep. Julie Harhart retained her spot on the ballot in the 183rd district on Tuesday.
Harhart was able to stave off Republican challenger Marc Grammes, a former Lehigh County commissioner, after she garnered an unofficial 1,229 votes to 960 for Grammes, with all 26 precincts reporting.The 20-year incumbent will go on to face Democrat Terri Lynn Powell in November.In Lehigh County, the 183rd District covers parts of Whitehall, Washington and South Whitehall townships and Slatington, while it also includes North Catasauqua, Walnutport, Northampton, Lehigh and Allen townships in Northampton counties, as well as parts of Moore Township.
