Lehighton residents with a knack for painting and decorating are sought to put their skills to the test.
The Lehighton Main Street Steering Committee invites all borough residents to put on their creative thinking caps and painting smocks.
Those who do can paint a Lehighton downtown business window for the springtime celebration, according to steering committee member Diane Hoffman.
“It will be a decorating contest to have some fun and volunteer to adopt the window of a downtown business,” Hoffman said. “It is the time for all of us to break free of the COVID-19 doldrums and to lift spirits and give the people visiting our downtown a beautiful picture of decorated windows while driving or walking through the Lehighton downtown.”
Hoffman said that the paint, brushes and artistic supplies will be provided by the Main Street Steering Committee.
“As the artist, you will have the creative license to paint a springtime theme in collaboration with the business owner,” she said. “Let your creativity flow while helping our downtown to come alive with springtime colors and decorative displays.”
Three prizes will be awarded for the best windows.
