Northwestern, Palmerton and Tamaqua all posted boys basketball wins on Thursday, while Tamaqua’s swim team earned a sweep.

Also, during Northern Lehigh’s loss to Notre Dame, Brandon Hess reached the 1,000-point plateau.

Northern Lehigh’s Brandon Hess scored his 1,000th career point but it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs dropped a 75-58 Colonial League decision to Notre Dame.

Hess hit a three-pointer in the fourth quarter to reach his milestone and finished the contest with 13 points. Nolehi (11-7; 7-6) received a team-high 18 points from Preston Kemery.

For the Crusaders, Jozet Korpicz led the way with 18 points.

Northwestern built a lead and then held off Wilson for a 62-59 Colonial League win.

The Tigers’ Devin Thomas led all scorers with 25 points, while Sam Yadush contributed 12 and Deven Bollinger chipped in with 10.

The winners, who led by 11 points at halftime, improved to 9-9 overall and 7-6 in the league.

For the Warriors (11-5, 9-4), Sam Brown scored a team-high 17 points.

Palmerton had two strong middle frames to pull out a 57-44 Colonial League win over Pen Argyl.

Justin Hosier scored a team-high 20 points for the Blue Bombers, who outscored their opponent by a 33-18 margin in the second and third quarters.

Kody Kratzer added 13 points and Nate Dougherty finished with 11.

For the Green Knights, Connor Fehr led all scorers with 21 points.

The win lifted Palmerton to 10-8 overall and 7-6 in the league.

Brayden Knoblauch tallied 30 points to help Tamaqua pull out a 71-66 non-league overtime win over Mount Carmel.

Knoblauch hit five three-pointers in the contest to help the Blue Raiders improve to 12-5 overall.

Lucas Gregoire added 17 points for Tamaqua, who rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit.

For the Tornadoes, Donovan James scored 22 points.

In the JV game, Tamaqua earned a 58-49 victory.

Trailing by three points after three quarters, Nazareth erupted in the fourth to gain a 66-58 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win over Pleasant Valley.

The Blue Eagles outscored the Bears, 21-10, in the final eight minutes to pull out victory.

Stephon Sheard scored a game-high 24 points for Nazareth.

The Bears (0-15) received a team-high 15 points from Andrus Gaddist, while Noah Mitchell and Ashton Smith each chipped in with 10.

Nazareth also posted a 63-38 win in the JV game.

Brenden Smay recorded a pin in the final match to lift Northern Lehigh to a 42-39 Colonial League win over Palmerton.

With the Blue Bombers up 39-24 with three matches to go, the Bulldogs registered falls in all of them to pull out the victory. Dominic Bandle (220) and Josh Schaffer (285) posted the other two pins.

Earlier in the match, the Bulldogs’ Preston Bauer (126), Joe Abidelli (152) and Damion Rodriguez (182) also scored falls.

Lucas Christman (138) had the only pin for Palmerton.
