A teacher at a Northampton County high school has been charged with having sexual relations with a student.
State police at Belfast said Eric Michael Hahn, 38, of South Whitehall Township, was arrested on Jan. 28 by members of the criminal unit of the barracks for engaging in sexual intercourse with a student while a teacher at the Bangor Area High School. This conduct started in October of 2019 and occurred both in school and out of school. The victim is a 17-year-old girl.
Hahn, who was taken into custody without incident, was charged with intercourse/sexual contact with student and corruption of minors – defendant age 18 or above. Both counts are felony 3s. The investigation was conducted with the assistance of the Northampton County District Attorney’s Office and Bangor Area School District police.
Hahn was arraigned on the charges and committed to the Northampton County prison after failing to post $200,000 bail.
