A 10-year-old boy was rescued from the frigid waters of the Weissport canal Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred 4:30 p.m. when the youth was riding his unicycle along the canal and the stone retaining wall collapsed sending him into the icy waters. Additional stones fell, pinning his leg trapping him. Shortly after the first Lehighton firefighters arrived on scene he was freed and brought up to safety. The boy was being treated by Lehighton paramedics.
