LEHIGHTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
Lehighton Borough Council took the following action on Monday:
• Approved the time extension for the Debra Kay and Joseph Bennett land development plan, subdivision and vacation plan until June 30.
• Approved the Joseph and Kathleen Tibensky’s subdivision plan.
• Agreed to spend $5,428 on repairs to the roof at borough hall to be done by Gehringer Corporation.
• Agreed to establish an ordinance for residential and commercial property inspections.
• Tabled a request from the Lehighton Area School District for police vehicle donation.
• Approved the L&P Department assisting Lehighton Water Authority to install leak detection equipment on utility poles.
• Approved a request from Alfie’s Pizza to place a dumpster in the Keystone Alley Parking Lot.
• Adopted a resolution requiring municipal officers to give bond for faithful performance in various borough positions.
• Agreed to purchase nine gift certificates ($40 each) for Administrative Professional’s Day April 24.
• Approved a request from St. Luke’s Hospice to hold its Ninth Annual Charity Bike Ride June 1, with the use of the Trailhead Pavilion, and fire police assistance for traffic control.
• Approved the Lehighton Fire Police assisting Weissport Borough’s Armed Forces Day Parade May 18.
• Approved Lehighton Police and Fire Police assisting with traffic control for the borough’s Memorial Day Service May 27.
• Approved the Lehighton Fire Police and/or Police assisting with traffic control for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day June 8, and the Veterans Parade Nov. 10.
• Approved the Lehighton UVO to use various borough properties for holding Memorial Day Service May 27; the 75th Anniversary D-Day June 8; and the Veterans Day Parade Nov. 10.
• Approved the list of Baer Memorial Pool employees.
