A look back: Jan. 8, 2002

Pledging to fulfill their duties with fidelity, five newly elected Carbon County row office holders were sworn in by President Judge Richard Webb yesterday morning in the county courthouse in Jim Thorpe.

Taking their oaths of office were Clerk of Courts William McGinley, Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphan’s Court Judy Moon, Treasurer Ronald Sheehan and Jury Commissioners Brenda Ellis and William Poluka.

McGinley was initially elected to officer in 1995; Moon has served since 1995; Sheehan is serving his first term; and Ellis and Poluka are second- and first-term officeholders, respectively.
