Frackville state police report on crashes
State police at Frackville reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways.
• Anita J. Dargis, 60, of Pottsville, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu northbound at 6:57 a.m. June 14 along Route 209 in Middleport, when the vehicle lost control and struck a guide rail along the left side, causing disabling damages. Dargis was not injured. She was cited for the crash.
• Danka Rankovich, 54, of Lehighton, was driving a 2012 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound at 12:34 p.m. June 14 along Route 443 in East Brunswick Township and attempted to make a left turn at the intersection with Route 895. Rankovich drove off the road into an embankment on the right side of Route 895. Rankovich sustained a suspected minor injury and was taken to State Luke’s Hospital - Gnaden Huetten. He was cited for the crash.
• No one was hurt in a crash at 10:54 a.m. June 20 on Interstate 81 in Cass Township.
Police said Aubrey T. Sullo, 37, of Summerdale, was driving a 2010 Kia Rondo north bound on the interstate, and was following a tractor trailer driven by William Sheridan, 22, of Central Square, New York, too closely when it briefly stopped in a construction zone. Police said the Rondo crashed into the rear of the rig, causing disabling damages and requiring it to be towed from the scene.
No one was injured. Police said Sullo was cited for following too closely.
• A Shoemakersville man escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 10:57 p.m. June 15 on Route 61 in Blythe Township.
Police said Colin A. Bevan, 25, was driving a 2001 Saturn northbound when the vehicle traveled onto the berm of the road. Police said Bevan overcompensated, causing the vehicle to travel back onto the passing lane, crossing into the driving lane and then striking the guide rail.
Police said the car began to spin clockwise, traveling back across both lanes of travel and coming to rest on the berm of the passing lane.
