West Penn holds 2021 reorganization

The West Penn Township board of supervisors held its reorganization meeting on Monday.

A moment of silence was held at the beginning of the meeting for Bob Steigmeier, a former supervisor and friend of the township.

Tony Prudenti was reappointed as board chairman for 2021.

“I think he did a great job last year and I would like to nominate him again,” said Supervisor Tim Houser.

As part of its reorganization, the board approved the following:

• Glenn Hummel, vice chairman

• Tim Houser, supervisor at large

• Karen Wittig, treasurer

• Katie Orlick, secretary/recording secretary for board of supervisors and planning commission meetings, right-to-know officer

• Herb Woodring, part-time assistant to board of supervisors

• Paul Datte, solicitor, board of supervisors and planning commission

• ARRO Consulting Inc., primary engineer, and Lehigh Engineering LLC, secondary

• ARRO Consulting Inc., primary UCC Building Code Administrator, and Lehigh Engineering LCC, secondary

• ARRO Consulting Inc., primary Zoning Code Enforcement Officer, and Lehigh Engineering LLC, secondary

• Robert S. Frycklund, zoning hearing board attorney

• William Brior, sewage enforcement officer, Robert Fugate, alternate

• A resolution establishing SEO procedures and fees

• Clint Schock, flood plain administrator and roadmaster

• Jeremy Frable, road crew leader

• Nathan Henry, Connor Evans, Jeff Bradford - full-time drivers/laborers

• Brian Johnson, chief of police

• Seven part-time patrol officers

• Joann Kunkle, cleaning person, office

• Fred Gimbi, ground maintenance, parks

• Property Maintenance Appeals Board - Larry Wittig, main, Delroy Haas and Tony Prudenti, alternates

• Jeff Bradford, fire chief, Connor Evans and Clyde Troxell, assistant fire chiefs

• Approved the West Penn Fire Company’s activities for 2021

• Brian Johnson, emergency management coordinator

• Kevin Mengel, assistant emergency management coordinator

• Chester Snyder, vacancy board chairman

• Supervisors Prudenti in charge of office, Hummel in charge of police, Houser in charge of road crew

• Tony Prudenti, 2020 PSATS Delegate

• James Dean, zoning hearing board position

• Thomas Ackerman, planning commission position

• Blaine Seip and Marlin Zehner, park commission positions

• Approved paid holidays for full-time union and full-time nonunion employees

• Approved the board of supervisors’ evening meetings for 6:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month and the morning meetings for 10 a.m. the third Monday of each month

• Approved the planning commissions’ meetings for 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month

• Approved the zoning hearing boards’ meetings for 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month as needed
