State police at Frackville charged a Barnesville man with arson for an incident Dec. 26 in Ryan Township.
Court documents state Joel Theodore Garber, 63, is charged with three felonies, arson- danger of death or bodily injury, arson-intent destroy unoccupied building and risking catastrophe. He is also charged with a misdemeanor charge of recklessly endangering another person. A preliminary hearing has not been set.
Joel Garber, the resident at 20 Sherwood Drive in the township, was taken into custody by state police at the scene of the Dec. 26 fire, Matt Morgan, captain of the Ryan Township Fire Company said previously.
“Three cruisers arrived within five minutes of me getting there,” he said previously.
The fire started in the first floor bedroom area and spread throughout the wood frame house.
