The Lamont H. Zimmerman Funeral Home, 215 S. Third St., Lehighton, has been sold to a Schuylkill Haven funeral director.

Effective Jan. 1, the funeral home will be owned and operated by Kent R. Moyer of Schuylkill Haven, who said he will move his residency to the building housing the funeral parlor.

Zimmerman has been in the funeral business at the Third Street address for the past 42 years. In terms of proprietors of a funeral home, he is one of the oldest in Carbon County.

The new name of the business will be the Moyer-Zimmerman Funeral Home. Moyer plans to retain the employees of Zimmerman.
