Five more Schuylkill County employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

Doreen Kutzler, interim human resources director, said Monday the county was notified of the results.

“Contact tracing has been completed by HR. Nine additional employees who had an exposure, separate and apart from the positive cases, are also in quarantine.”

Kutzler would not provide additional information.

The most recent report of positive cases last week indicated three inmates had tested positive for COVID-19 at the Schuylkill County Prison.

Numerous county employees have tested positive for the virus so far.

The county has taken actions to reduce the spread of the virus to include contact tracing, consistent cleaning and disinfecting of common areas of the courthouse facilities, work spaces and others.
