St. Jerome Regional School in Hometown will move to virtual learning for this week after two more confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported.
In a letter to parents Sunday afternoon, Principal Amy Hannis-Miskar said that two cases were confirmed in staff members of the school. Those staff members were last in the building on Dec. 15.
“We have contacted the PA Department of Health,” she wrote.
In alignment with the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the PA Department of Health’s guidelines, the school will move to virtual instruction Monday through Wednesday.
Students’ assignments will be posted in Google Classroom by 9 a.m. each day and teachers will be available by email for any questions about those assignments during school hours.
Over the next week, as well as over Christmas break, Hannis-Miskar wrote that the school will be deep cleaned and disinfected.
Students will then resume in-person instruction on Jan. 4, 2021.
