The fire at 31 N. Railroad St. in Tamaqua was under control with firefighters remaining on scene as of 11:40 p.m., a supervisor with the Schuylkill County Communications Center said.

A time was not provided when the fire was extinguished. He said no injuries were reported. Additional information was not available on damages or cause of the fire reported at 8:53 p.m.

Multiple dwellings were reported to be involved.

Police and fire departments from Tamaqua, Coaldale, and rapid intervention teams from Mahanoy City, Pottsville and Carbon County were dispatched. Multiple EMS agencies were also there.

The Tri County American Red Cross was called.
