A 24-year-old Effort man was stabbed two times in the left side of his torso during an incident at 1:30 a.m. Dec. 11 along Route 115 in Tunkhannock Township.
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said they charged Mathew James Valot, 27, of Stroudsburg, with assault with a deadly weapon after the incident.
Police said the victim and Valot engaged in a verbal argument over rent money outside an apartment, at which time Valot pulled a knife and stabbed the victim twice.
Police said a warrant for Valot’s arrest has been issued by Magisterial District Judge Richard Claypool.
