Two Schuylkill County employees have tested positive for COVID-19.
Doreen Kutzler, interim human resources director, said the county was notified Monday.
“Contact tracing has been completed by HR, and one additional employee who had an exposure, separate and apart from two positive cases is in quarantine,” she said.
Additional information was not provided.
Numerous county employees have tested positive for the virus so far.
The county has taken actions to reduce the spread of the virus to include contact tracing consistent cleaning and disinfecting of common areas of the courthouse facilities, work spaces and others.
Tamaqua Area School Superintendent Raymond Kinder posted Monday that another positive case was reported in the school district.
The individual is a noncontact student at Tamaqua Elementary School. The student has been assigned to isolation.
It was determined that no additional individuals will need to quarantine, Kinder said.
