A look back: Dec. 14, 1984

Dr. Richard Miller, superintendent of the 2,000-student Conrad Weiser School District in Robesonia, Berks County, for more than seven years, confirmed during a telephone conversation with the Times News today that he will be the next superintendent of schools at Panther Valley.

Miller, 48, a former assistant superintendent of the East Penn School District in Lehigh County and elementary supervisor for 12 years in the Northwestern Lehigh School District, New Tripoli, said he expects to assume the top post at Panther Valley in early February at a salary of $42,200 for the remainder of the 1984-85 school year.

The position became vacant when Dr. Andrew Chichura resigned.
