Schuylkill County District Attorney Michael O’Pake has filed an intent to seek the death penalty and specific aggravating circumstances against Nathaniel Joseph Kimmel for the killing of April Mahmod of Shenandoah.
Mahmod was killed at her home in August allegedly by Kimmel.
O’Pake filed the paperwork Nov. 25, something he said he didn’t do lightly.
O’Pake will be the lead prosecutor in the case, which is his first death penalty case as district attorney.
