Police file charges after Monroe traffic stops

State police at Stroudsburg reported on the following incidents investigated by troopers at Monroe County locations.

• On Nov. 25 at 5:52 p.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2012 Nissan Maxima along Route 209 at Beaver Valley Road in Hamilton Township. The driver, Sean Chisolm, 36, of Lehighton, was found to have an out-of-state felony warrant. He was taken into custody.

• On Nov. 25 at 2:02 p.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2002 Saturn L200 along Route 611 at Frantz Road, in Hamilton Township. The driver, a 34-year-old man from Saylorsburg, who troopers declined to identify, was found in possession of heroin along with other prescription medications. He was arrested on drug possession charges.

• On Nov. 18 at 8:09 a.m. a traffic stop of a 2005 Mercury Marquis was conducted along Interstate 380 northbound in Tobyhanna Township. During the stop, a passenger, Malcolm McKenzie, 22, of Johnson City, New York, was discovered to be in possession of a controlled substance. He was taken into custody and processed at the county prison. Troopers said appropriate charges will be filed.
