A fundraiser to benefit Dawn Paulus in her fight against a rare form of cancer, leiomyosarcoma, will be held May 27 at the Coaldale fire company, 121 W. High St., Coaldale.

Leiomyosarcoma accounts for 5 to 10 percent of soft-tissue carcinomas and is often unpredictable and is resistant to standard cancer treatments, such as radiation and chemotherapy.The event will feature a basket raffle, music by a disc jockey and food and drinks.
