Padora’s Italian Bakery is hosting its Toys for Tots drive in Tamaqua.

Anyone who contributes a new toy will receive a loaf of bread in return.

“Especially this year, a lot of people can’t afford toys,” Larry Padora said. “This year is an important year for people to donate.”

The bakery has given back to the community for many years. Padora said this year’s drive is in honor of his mother, who passed away a few years ago, and his father, who passed away in February.

“They donated to everything,” Larry said. They really liked Toys for Tots and giving back to the kids.”

Toys can be donated up until Christmas Eve.

Padora’s is located at 122 Railroad St., Tamaqua. Visit the shop Monday-Saturday, between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to contribute to the drive.
