Share a home

Information for sharing a home via the SHARE program in Monroe, Pike and Wayne counties, which is a program that can be an affordable housing choice that brings together homeowners who want to share their home with home seekers who are looking for housing in exchange for rent, help around the house, or a combination of both, according to the Monroe County Seniors’ Express.

For additional information, contact Larisa Yusko, SHARE Home Counselor, Monroe, Pike and Wayne Counties, 150 Pike County Blvd., Hawley, PA 18428 or at 570-832-5133.

Sweet stuff set

The Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center is once again promoting its Sponsor-A-Maple Tree program to help Monroe County students.

For a set donation per tree, each sponsor receives one pint of the Center’s fresh maple syrup, a handsome certificate, and free admission to one of the Public Day Programs on March 6, 13 or 20, 2021, for up to four people and a map showing the location of one’s tree in the Sugarbush. Sponsoring a maple tree also makes a great birthday or holiday gift.

This fundraising program, sponsored by Monroe County Conservation District’s Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center, helps offset costs for the maple sugaring educational program that has benefited students throughout Monroe County for over 30 years.

The center always tries to keep costs to the students affordable, but due to the overwhelming interest in the program the expenses have increased. By participating in the Sponsor-A-Maple Tree program, people can help offset these costs.

For more information, call the center at 570-629-3061, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or visit the center website at www.mcconservation.org to download a sponsorship form and a schedule of the programs being offered.
