Holy Trinity Lutheran Church

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will hold Sunday worship in the sanctuary at 10:15 a.m. Due to limited seating, please call the church office at 610-826-2524 if you plan to attend. The service is also available on Zoom.

Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) will be celebrating Thanksgiving the whole month with Pastor Rob Timlin. Faith Alive has two Sunday services. At 9 a.m. is the traditional worship and at 10:30 a.m. is the contemporary worship. The four options remain the same: in the sanctuary and in Leah’s Room (masks required); in the parking lot in your vehicle with audio at FM 104.3; or online through Facebook Live.

Prayer & Praise is every Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The November mission is the Faith Alive Benevolence Fund. It is designed to meet the emergency needs that are within the church family and in the community.

The Youth Group will meet Nov. 22 from 6-8 p.m. All youth ages 12 years to 12th grade are welcome.

Palmerton food pantry

The CACPAC sponsored Palmerton Food Pantry will be held on Nov. 20 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Please note the change of week because of Thanksgiving.

The pantry supports residents of the Palmerton Area School District only. Please remain in your vehicle and follow the instructions given by the volunteers. There is no need to preregister. If you are unable to attend, someone may pick up for you.

The food pantry is always in need of canned food items, paper and personal care items. Donations may be dropped off at 452 and 459 Lafayette Ave. Boxes are on the porches for donations.

Christmas toy drive

Bins have been placed in many Palmerton businesses for the CACPAC toy drive. They are collecting new unwrapped toys (no stuffed animals) for children of all ages. Some stores where bins are located include Subway, Family Dollar, the Palmerton Library, Country Harvest, and the banks and some churches. The bins will remain until Dec. 8.

These toys will be distributed to local families to help assure Christmas is magical for their children. So if you can find it in your budget and in your heart to contribute, your donation will be greatly appreciated.

Thanksgiving dinner

Living Hope Lighthouse Church, Third St., Palmerton will be hosting another community Thanksgiving dinner. The dinner will be Nov. 25, but this year it will be curbside pickup only. Give the church a call that evening at 610-826-2201 starting at 4:30 p.m. They will take calls until 7:30 p.m. Curbside pickup ends at 8 p.m.

Jerusalem UCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) continues to hold its Sunday services in the church grove (weather permitting) at 10:30 a.m. When the services are held in the sanctuary, social distancing and masks will be required. There will be limited seating capacity. The service will also livestream on Facebook as well as continue to transmit to those who choose to listen on their car radio in the church parking lot on radio station 95.5 FM.

The annual congregational meeting will take place on Nov. 22 at 10 a.m. They will vote on the proposed 2021 budget and new consistory members. Please plan to attend this important meeting.

The “Hat and Mitten tree” is ready to be filled with hats, mittens, gloves, scarves and socks. All items will be given to the Eldred Community Center for needy children and adults living in the area served by the center. The deadline to place items on the tree is Nov. 29.
