Weatherly police have ordered people away from the scene of a fatal house fire Saturday night.
The investigation continues into the cause that claimed the life of the elderly victim.
Police are expecting a state police fire marshal to the scene shortly.
Carbon County Coroner Bruce Nalesnik said he has preliminary identification, but an autopsy will be conducted at 8 a.m. Monday.
The fire was called shortly after 10 p.m. at a home in the 200 block of Entwistle Street.
Authorities believe the fire may have started in the kitchen area of the single family wood frame dwelling as pictured here.
When firefighters arrived on scene they found the home to be fully involved in flames.
Smoke continued to rise from the ruins and firefighters worked to douse hot spots about an hour after they were dispatched.
Close friends of the elderly woman have crossed police lines to lay flowers in the arms of a statue standing in front of the victim's home.
