Nesquehoning Police report DUI, violations

Nesquehoning police released the following charges and citations that were issued in the borough recently.

• Joseph J. Poproch, 54, of Grant Street, Hazleton, two counts for driving under the influence, and two driving violations. The incident occurred on March 7.

Jim Thorpe police was dispatched for an erratic driver heading toward Nesquehoning, crossing the double yellow line.

Nesquehoning police found the vehicle in question on Route 93 and conducted a traffic stop.

Police could smell alcohol on Poproch’s breath and he admitted drinking 10 beers while at a concert venue in Jim Thorpe.

Results from the blood drawn that night were received on Sept. 28 and showed a BAC of 0.18.

• Whitney Cheyanne Lockwitch, 28, of the 100 block of East Railroad Street, Nesquehoning, was charged with two counts each simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct following a fight on Oct. 4.

According to police, officers were dispatched to a residence on West Center Street for a fight in progress between two women.

Lockwitch told police she went to confront a woman about her daughter pushing Lockwitch’s son.

Another woman tried to de-escalate the argument between the two women, but Lockwitch allegedly attacked her and hit the girl the argument began all over.

• Brandice Andrea Boner, 40, of Mauch Chunk Road, Palmerton, has been charged after she failed to register with state police.

According to police, on Nov. 3, police received an investigation request about Boner had not updated her location information with state police within the required three business days, as required under Megan’s Law. Boner’s verification window was between Oct. 14 and 23.

Police spoke with her mother, who said she was living in Palmerton. Officers also left a voicemail for Boner, which she returned.

She told police she didn’t register because she had been in a crash on Oct. 27, and noted that when she was incarcerated, the prison would verify it for her, but after release, she never got a reminder to update it.

• Matthew Todd Borst, 30, of Blose Street, Bowmanstown was charged with providing false identification to law enforcement.

On Oct. 11, police were called to a home on East Railroad Street for a man who was wanted by the county sheriff’s office and was outside working on a vehicle.

The man told police his name was John Baker, which police learned was false.

He then became defensive and insisted he was not Matthew Borst.

After further discussion, Borst eventually admitted his real identity and confirmed he was wanted.

He was then taken to the Carbon County Correctional Facility.

Citations

Nesquehoning police also issued the following citations:

• Bruce Zboray was cited for careless driving and vehicle turning left after he turned in front of another driver at the intersection of route 93 and 209 and caused a crash. The incident happened on Oct. 28.

• Traffic: two expired registration and one each operating a vehicle with an expired inspection, driving while under suspension and speeding.

• Non-traffic: Two disorderly conduct
