Collect aluminum cans

The Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Company, Little Gap Road, has a trailer at the company grounds to collect aluminum cans and crushed cans.

The Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Trachsville, also has a beverage can shed in the church grove and is looking for your empty aluminum cans. There are two deposit slots: one for crushed and one for uncrushed.

Breakfast

An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton. Menu items include eggs to order, potatoes, pancakes, SOS, toast, cereal, hash, bacon, ham, sausage, OJ, coffee, tea and milk. Masks are required upon entering and moving about the building.

Holy Trinity Lutheran

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton will hold Sunday worship in the sanctuary at 10:15 a.m. Due to limited seating, please call the church office at 610-826-2524 if you plan to attend. The service is also available on Zoom.

Bible study is held on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

Please remember to bring food items for the CACPAC food pantry

Holy Trinity Thrift Shop

The Holy Trinity Thrift Shop is located inside the church at 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. The shop is open Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) will be celebrating Thanksgiving the whole month with Pastor Rob Timlin. Faith Alive has two Sunday worship services. At. 9 a.m. is the traditional worship and at 10:30 a.m. is the contemporary worship. The four options remain the same: in the sanctuary and in Leah’s Room (masks required); in the parking lot with audio at FM 104.3; or online through Facebook Live.

Prayer & Praise is every Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The November mission is the Faith Alive Benevolence Fund. It is designed to meet the emergency needs that arise within the church family and in the community.

The ABC Food Pantry could use food donations, especially canned meat and spaghetti sauce at this time.

Molasses tongue cookies

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton is still taking orders for their famous molasses tongue cookies. Order by Nov. 18. Call Teri at 610-392-1865. Pickup is Nov. 23 from noon to 5 p.m. at the church.

Retirement celebration

After 37 years of faithful service at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton, Pastor Jody has announced his plans to retire at the end of this year. Please plan to come and join in Jody’s COVID-safe farewell walk-through between noon and 3 p.m. Nov. 15.

The walk-through will be held in St. John’s Social Hall. Come and walk-through at a safe distance. See Jody’s biography board. View a variety of Pastor Jody’s pictures spanning over 60 years. Take a moment and talk with Jody and Kim and wish them well. View Pastor Jody’s farewell gifts from his friends and St. John’s members. Feel free to leave congratulations cards, notes or letters for him.

All Pastor Jody’s parishioners, colleagues, family and friends are welcome to join in and celebrate his well-deserved retirement.
