Police report theft of gun, cash

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a theft of cash along with the theft of a gun in separate incidents.

Troopers said on Nov. 7 at 6:39 p.m. two women, ages 20 and 62, of Mount Effort Drive in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, reported the theft of cash and jewelry by suspected contractors performing a bathroom remodel at the residence.

Removed from a unlocked bedroom dresser was $1,800 in large bills.

They reported $50 and a Pandora bracelet containing 10 charms valued at $550 were taken from another room.

The investigation into the incident is continuing, troopers said.

The firearm theft occurred at a gun show being held at the Split Rock Lodge in Lake Harmony, Kidder Township, on Nov. 7. A Springfield gun on display for sale was stolen from a display case. The gun is valued at $579.
