Some more changes have been made to the District 11 football playoff schedule.

The most notable is that Bangor has been forced to withdraw from the tournament due to COVID-related issues. That announcement was released Wednesday night by Northwestern’s Director of Athletics Jason Zimmerman, who is also the District 11 football chairman. The Slaters originally didn’t make the Class 4A field but were added when Saucon Valley had to drop out.

Bangor was put in as the No. 8 seed and scheduled to play Central Catholic Friday night. With the Slaters out, the top-seeded Vikings will receive a bye and automatically advance to the semifinals. They will face the winner of the Blue Mountain versus Bethlehem Catholic contest.

In another change, the 5A semifinal contest pitting Whitehall against Southern Lehigh has been moved to Sunday. That game will start at 1:35 p.m.
