An Easton driver was involved in two crashes just minutes apart and is facing a driving under the influence charge. State police at Fern Ridge said the crashes occurred along Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.
At 10:16 p.m. George R. Sigafoos, 63, of Easton, was driving a 2003 Pontiac Montana northbound when he entered the southbound lane and struck the passenger side of a 2016 Buick Regal being driven by Mary A. Kreit, 25, of Macungie. Troopers said Kreit swerved to avoid a collision but could not. Kreit was not injured.
Sigafoos continued on and at 10:21 p.m. his vehicle collided head-on with a 2013 Ford Edge driven by Jason J. Schuster, 43, of Kunkletown. Schuster was injured and taken by West End ambulance a hospital in East Stroudsburg. Sigafoos was injured in the crashes and also take to a hospital.
He was cited for both crashes, including DUI.
