On Thursday, superintendents from Jim Thorpe and Tamaqua districts posted letters about additional virus cases at their schools.
Jim Thorpe superintendent John Rufsheski said someone at the Penn-Kidder Campus has recently tested positive for COVID-19. As a precaution, staff will teach
remotely on Friday as the school will undergo enhanced cleaning. Our school building is
safe for occupancy.
Tamaqua superintendent Ray Kinder said Thursday the district was informed that a student at our high school has tested positive.
The student is now in isolation and recovering. The student has not been in our school buildings in almost two weeks, Kinder said.
We’ll update as more details become available.
