The Rev. John G. Engler, native of Jim Thorpe and pastor of St. Elizabeth’s Church, Fullerton, was honored by the Exchange Club of Whitehall Township last night at an event held at the Northampton Community Center.

Attorney Joseph Engler, his brother, spoke on the subject, “This is Your Life.” He was accompanied by his wife, Mary, and Bernard J. Harrity, who represented the Class of 1923 of Mauch Chunk Catholic High School, of which Father Engler is a member.

Father Engler was presented the club’s Golden Deeds Award and was cited for unselfish community service in the program which was attended by 350 people.
