Mother, daughter sentenced for Weissport incident

A Carbon County mother and daughter were sentenced in the county court on Monday afternoon for an incident in Weissport where the two were involved in an altercation with another woman.

Tasha Lynn Osborn, 36, of Lansford, and her mother, Kim A. Osborn, 55, of Nesquehoning, were both placed on probation on charges of persistent disorderly conduct.Both were charged by state police at Lehighton following an incident on May 2, 2015 in the area of 211 White St., Weissport. The two were in a altercation with Janet Amill Conner, 53. Conner was charged with harassment for her part in the incident. Tasha Osborn had a charge of simple assault dropped in a plea bargain.She also pleaded to a charge of receiving stolen property for an incident on Nov. 17, 2014, at the CVS pharmacy in Nesquehoning.Both women apologized for their actions. Police said Tasha Osborn cooperated fully in the pharmacy incident.Judge Steven R. Serfass sentenced Tasha Osborn to time served (four days) to six months in jail in the receiving case and one year probation on the conduct matter, with the terms running consecutively.She was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment, render 75 hours of community service, and have no contact with the victim in the Weissport incident.Kim Osborn was placed on probation for a year and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and have no contact with the victim.Both must also pay court costs of about $1,000 each and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation/parole.
