Rush Township announced that it received grant money to improve one of its parks at Thursday’s board of supervisors meeting.
“We just were informed this past month we got a grant to put a pavilion in Miller Park and replace the pavilion in Grier City Park, along with parking lots,” said Supervisor Robert Leibensperger.
The grant amount totals $70,000 from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program, administered by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
The money for the pavilions and parking lot comes shortly after Rush received a grant of $50,000 through the Community Partnerships Program to put play equipment at Grier City Park.
The township must match $20,000, which brings the total to $70,000 to put toward the equipment.
